If the other flight jackets are for cool days, this one is for the cold ones.
Built Big for Cold Air
The name comes from the B-11, the heavy flying parka with a fur collar made for crews working in freezing conditions. We have taken that look and made it for the street. The shape is generous, the shell is dark brown leather and the inside is shearling, which is what gives the jacket its serious insulation.
The collar is the first thing you notice. It is wide and full, and it can be worn up around the neck or laid flat across the shoulders. Belted tabs at the waist let you cinch the jacket in, which stops the shape from ballooning and helps keep heat in.
B-11 Heavy Duty Flight Jacket Features
- Dark brown leather shell: deep colour that hides everyday wear.
- Shearling lining: thick insulation throughout the body.
- Wide fur collar: a full collar that frames the neck.
- Belted waist tabs: adjustable straps to tighten the fit.
Wearing and Maintaining a Heavy Jacket
Because of its bulk, keep the layers beneath light. A shearling-lined jacket should be roomy. Take your normal size, since the lining adds volume, and only size up if you intend to wear a thick jumper. Care starts with keeping the jacket dry.
The B-11 Heavy Duty Flight Jacket is our most insulated flight style at New USA Jackets. See all Men’s Shearling Jackets, or have a look at a similar warm option, the B3 aviator shearling jacket.
