Youth T-Shirts That Actually Fit Real Kids (Not Just A Size Chart)
We are in the apparel business long enough to know this to be true: no parent, coach, or youth pastor wants to guess at a size chart, hoping for the best. We’ve seen this a lot: having a “youth large t-shirt”, or a “youth small t-shirt”, which don’t fit the real kid. Which is why we sat down and changed the way that New USA Jackets manufactures their youth tees, from the cloth up.
So, What Size Is A Youth Large T-Shirt, Really?
Once we went through all the manufacturer specs and compared them to real kids, we found that the size of youth t-shirts generally ranges from XS all the way up to XL (which is approximately 4-20 years of age), and body length ranges from around 20.5″ for the XS to 26.5″ for the youth XL size. One mistake to make is the use of the term youth XL, and the measurement that exceeds youth’s length may not be the safer choice since adult small also overlaps with youth at times.
Always take actual measurements of the child, not the age tag. Every time, age and birthdays of chests & heights are selected!
