Five dark buttons close a single-breasted front under wide notch lapels. The belt cinches at the waist, and when it is left open the coat hangs straight with a heavy, formal drape. The colour is a rich, dark brown that looks almost black at night and warm in daylight.
Large patch pockets with flaps sit on the lower front and hold gloves, keys and a notebook. A yoke across the shoulders adds strength and a vent at the back lets you walk without pulling.
